Make New Friends & More at These Playgrounds in Fairfield, CT

Motherhood

Playgrounds are truly a parent’s best friend during those earlier years. Your child is at a stage where they’re constantly growing and exploring. They want to dive headfirst into the world surrounding them. On the days when they’re cooped up inside, this can lead to huge messes and broken towel racks. By taking them to a playground, you can let them unleash that pent-up energy while making new friends with the kids in the community. If you’re looking for the best playgrounds in Fairfield, CT, let me tell you about my four favorites so you can find the ideal match for your wild child.

Beardsley Park

3102 E. Main Street #100

Bridgeport, Connecticut 06610

Located alongside the Beardsley Zoo, Beardsley Park offers a large, nature-filled area where kids can explore. The playground is pretty standard and offers kids ages 2-10 a great place to climb and slide. Once the temps go up, you can find families from across the county keeping cool at the splash pad. The park offers walking trails and large fields where kids can run as much as they’d like.

Seaside Park

I Barnum Dyke

Bridgeport, Connecticut 06604

Seaside Park is a lush and stately park with several playgrounds, including a bright purple and pink one built upon the sand of the coast. This playground was built in honor of Joey Gay and includes autism awareness messages. A small fence offers protection from the water, and the slides are low enough that toddlers can easily handle them. Seaside Park also has a splash pad during warmer months.

Henry Rowland Park “The Sand Castle”

Henry Rowland Park has created “The Sand Castle,” a unique playground designed to ignite kids’ imaginations. Nestled near some shady trees, this wooden playground is modeled after a castle, giving children the perfect place to create their own stories. The playground features swings and slides for all ages. Younger kids can take on the ramps and stairs, while older kids will love the windy slides.

There’s a model railroad museum as well as a miniature lighthouse. The playground is handicap accessible and offers two climbing walls, each built for kids of different sizes. While the park offers unlimited things for kids to do, the impressive playground might just be enough of an adventure for your day.
