There is a particular kind of stillness to those first weeks at home with a newborn. The rest of the world keeps moving, but inside your house, time works differently. You are learning a new person. You are learning a new version of yourself. You are noticing things you never expected to notice: the weight of a sleeping baby on your chest, the exact sound of their breathing, the way the afternoon light falls across the nursery at 3pm. These are not small things. They are the things you will search your memory for years from now and find just slightly out of reach. As a Westchester newborn photographer, my job is to make sure they are never out of reach. To give you images that bring every one of those details back, fully and completely, every time you look at them.
I photograph newborn sessions throughout Westchester County, including Scarsdale, Rye, White Plains, Bronxville, Larchmont, Chappaqua, and the surrounding communities. Whether you prefer an in-home lifestyle session or a studio session, I’ll help create an experience that feels calm, personal, and completely tailored to your family.
Some families want their session to happen right where those early memories are being made: in the nursery they spent months putting together, in the bed where they have been sleeping in shifts, in the living room where they have spent hours just staring at this tiny person they made. Others choose the calm, light-filled studio experience, where every detail is carefully prepared and the focus remains entirely on your family. I shoot both beautifully, and I will help you figure out which one is right for you. What I can tell you is that no matter where we shoot, the result will be images that feel honest, tender, and completely yours.

Because These Early Days Deserve To Be Remembered Exactly As They Are

01 | We start with a conversation.

Before we talk about dates and details, I want to hear about you. How is the pregnancy going? What are you looking forward to most? What are you nervous about? What do you want to remember most from these early days? I ask because the session we plan together should be built around your answers, not a template.

Once your session is booked, I take over the details. We discuss your wardrobe, I pull options from my studio wardrobe that will work for you, and we coordinate hair and makeup timing in advance. By the time your session day comes, you have nothing to organise. That is by design. You are growing, or you have just had, a baby. My job is to carry the logistics so you do not have to.

02 | We plan everything, so you do not have to think about it.

I move at the baby's pace, not a shot list. Newborn sessions are slow and gentle by nature, and I lean into that completely. I pay close attention to the unscripted moments: the way you look at your baby when you think no one is watching, the grip of tiny fingers around yours, the quiet exhale of a sleeping newborn. Those are the images that will matter most twenty years from now.

03 | On the day, you just show up.

A few weeks after your session, I bring your edited gallery to you in person. We sit together, look through everything, and talk about how your images will live in your home. I do not send a link and disappear. I am there to help you make decisions you will be happy with for decades, and I handle every step of ordering and delivery myself.

04 | We choose your artwork together.

Newborn Experience

Westchester Newborn Photographer

The importance of capturing this stage cannot be overstated.

People talk about how fast babies grow, and they are not wrong. But what nobody tells you is how completely you will forget certain things. Not because you were not paying attention, but because the sheer volume of change that happens in a newborn's first year makes it genuinely impossible to hold onto all of it. The parents who sit with me at their ordering appointments, looking at photos from just a few weeks earlier, say the same thing almost every time: I cannot believe how much has already changed. A well-made newborn portrait does not just show you what your baby looked like. It gives you back a feeling you did not know you were going to lose.

From the moment you reach out to book your newborn photographer in Westchester NY, my goal is to make every single step feel simple, warm, and taken care of. You have just had a baby. You deserve that.

Every newborn baby photoshoot in Westchester I photograph is built around what this specific family needs. I do not apply a formula. I listen first, I plan second, and I shoot third. The result is a gallery that looks and feels like your family, not a version of someone else's.

frequently asked questions

Sessions can take place in your Westchester home, at my studio in Stratford CT, or on location outdoors. The right choice depends on the look you want, how your baby is sleeping, and what environment feels most natural to your family. We will talk through all of this during your planning call so you feel confident going into your shoot day.

Where do newborn sessions take place?

Not at all. The curled, sleepy newborn poses work best in the first two weeks, but babies at every age in those early months are worth photographing. The way a six-week-old looks up at you is completely different to the way they looked at two weeks, and both are worth having. Please reach out whatever stage you are at and we will figure out what is possible.

My baby is over 3 weeks, is it too late?

The second trimester is a good time to get in touch. I cap the number of newborn sessions I take each month so that every client gets my full attention and I am never rushing from one session to the next. Getting in touch early gives us the most flexibility around your due date.

I'm pregnant, when should I schedule my newborn session?

I have a full selection of swaddles, wraps, bonnets, and headbands that I choose specifically to complement your outfit and the overall feel of the session. You are always welcome to bring something personal if there is a special piece you want included, a blanket from the nursery, a knit hat a family member made. Those details add something no studio prop ever could.

Do you provide any outfits for the baby or just me?

I photograph newborn sessions throughout Westchester County and also welcome families from New York City and nearby areas of Connecticut. If you’re unsure whether I travel to your location, simply reach out and I’d be happy to discuss the best option for your family.
