Hospital births might be the norm, but they’re definitely not for everyone. Not only do you have to worry about the germs and the noise, but you also lose a good deal of control over your delivery. Many women decide to ditch the hospital in favor of a home birth, but this also isn’t an option for everyone. If you’ve been considering an unmedicated birth outside of your house, I would love to introduce you to the midwives at the CT Birth Center. This group is dedicated to giving you a profound birth experience in a home-like environment.

The midwives at The CT Birth Center (also known as the Connecticut Childbirth & Women’s Center) have been working with East Coast families since 1997. The center serves most of Connecticut as well as parts of New York and Massachusetts. The midwives are devoted to giving you the birth experience that’s right for you. While they do most of their deliveries within their cozy birth center, they also deliver through the Danbury Hospital. The team is composed of 6 midwives with over 6o years of collective experience. They’ve been present for over 5,500 deliveries and cannot wait to be there for your birth experience!

With the birth center, you’ll receive prenatal appointments with your midwife on the same schedule as you would with an obstetrics office. They can complete all the lab work within the office and send you referrals for your ultrasounds. The appointments are laid back and full of conversation. Your midwife’s goal is to get to know you so they can offer personalized care through every moment of your pregnancy and labor.
The CT Birth Center itself is a comfortable space filled with modern decorations and cozy amenities. Because you’re not hooked up to IVs, you’re able to move around as much as you’d like. You can also eat or drink throughout your labor. In addition to cozy beds, the rooms have large jacuzzi tubs you can ease into to help with any discomfort. They offer laughing gas, and they’re right across the road from Danbury Hospital in case you need to be transferred. You’ll stay for several hours following your delivery before heading home to relax in your own bed.

The midwives offer additional services outside of their birth care. If you’d prefer a more holistic approach to your gynecological health, you can schedule your services at the center. They can offer routine appointments, family planning counseling, birth control counseling, and treatment for infections.

If you’re looking for a comfortable space for your delivery, check out the CT Birth Center. This space provides a home-like environment for your birth experience.
