Breastfeeding is a beautiful, natural way to nourish and bond with your new baby. But that doesn’t mean it’s always an easy process! Luckily, there are plenty of amazing resources for new moms and babies to make breastfeeding as seamless as possible. A lactation consultant in CT is qualified, experienced, and passionate about helping women on their breastfeeding journey.
St. Vincent’s Medical Family Birthing Center is a wonderful place to bring your baby into the world, with hotel-like suites that allow new moms to remain in the same room throughout labor, delivery, and recovery. In addition to an array of perks and amenities for birthing families, they also offer a variety of breastfeeding resources for new moms.
You can participate in a breastfeeding class to learn about feeding cues, proper latch techniques, and positioning or find a community of other nursing moms in a breastfeeding support group. If you deliver at St. Vincent’s, you’ll experience “rooming in.” Your baby will stay with you as you learn their hunger cues and develop a feeding routine.
The Center for Advanced Pediatrics has a Breastfeeding Support Center that partners with Tiny Tummies Lactation Consultants. Their Support Center’s team of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and lactation consultants has created a place of support for new moms and babies to address and treat a variety of breastfeeding and lactation challenges.
Regardless of your personal OB or pediatrician, you can find help at the Breastfeeding Support Center. They’ll begin with a consultation to address your specific issues and concerns before working with you to create a customized action plan. Whether you’re having issues with your baby latching properly, creating a large enough milk supply, or even transitioning back to work, you can receive help at the Breastfeeding Support Center.
